Other Activities Associated With WIC
There are three activities in Westbourne for
international students to listen to and practise speaking English. One of these
is WIC (a mission programme of West Cliff Baptist Church) on Sundays, the others are a café and a Bible study (see below
for details). These three activities work together, and you will see many of
the same leaders at the different activities.
Thursday - Wellspring Chillout
7:30 - 9:30 pm each Thursday. Relax while you have tea, coffee and cakes, play table tennis and table football, and practise your English! The Chillout details, photos and videos are here (opens in a new window). Wellspring meets in the Hall at West Cliff Baptist Church.
Monday - Bible Study Group
7:30 - 9:30 pm on Mondays (usually for 4-5 weeks, with a break of 4-5 weeks before the next series), at the home of one of the co-workers. A time for refreshments, and English practise while looking at the Bible.
Friends International
As well as the activities above, we keep contact with Friends International, which co-ordinates the international student activities in the UK, and also runs special events. The Friends International web site pages about Poole and Bournemouth can be found here (opens in a new window).
